Dumbbell Flys: Targeting the Chest with Isolation

Dumbbell flys are a classic chest exercise that focuses on the pectorals, giving you that wide, sculpted chest. Unlike pressing exercises, flys isolate the chest by keeping your arms in a fixed position while the elbows remain slightly bent. This movement helps stretch and contract the chest for maximum activation.
How to Perform Dumbbell Flys:
- Set Up:
- Lie flat on a bench with a dumbbell in each hand.
- Hold the dumbbells directly above your chest with your arms extended, palms facing each other.
- Lower the Dumbbells:
- Slowly lower the dumbbells outward, keeping a slight bend in your elbows.
- Stretch your chest as far as comfortable while maintaining control.
- Return to Starting Position:
- Reverse the motion, squeezing your chest as you bring the dumbbells back together over your chest.
- Tip:
- Focus on the stretch and contraction of your chest, not just lifting the weight.
